if you give a man a fish .the woes of a crazy mama

Remy has been a sick dude lately.  today his fever is gone, but he has a bad case of the grumps.  I also have a bad case of the grumps.  not a good combo.  I have always had remy fall asleep on me for his naps.  today he wouldn't fall asleep and was just screaming so I put him in his bed.  there is still a lot of screaming but he is  in another room.  enough distance to keep me from strangling the poor dear. I figure an hour of  "nap"  will do just the trick for me today. even though i'm sitting here infuriated that he won't be asleep. i'm about a half hour in and i don't think he'll be falling asleep anytime soon.   the moral of this story: teach your baby to fall asleep by themselves or you will end up like me.  I would post a pic, but it's too scary, even for the internet.

In other news:  we are alive and well.  (mostly)  a little crazed is all.  Remy looks like a big boy.  a little old man.

in honor of our long lost germans, Mark and Ashley:

We were germans for halloween this year and remy, like always, did not fail to impress.  He was the star of the show everywhere we went.

Here's the scoop

We had an awesome end to our summer.  We had my giant birthday bash and then headed off to the island of Curacao.  I had a hard time leaving the majesty but after about 5 minutes of being there I was fine.  but really we did miss remy.  This year seemed like it was the perfect year for a vacation because we had a lot to celebrate:  law school, job, successful birth of said majesty, and also this year is our 5 year wedding anniversary ( cant believe it).  so we packed our bags and went on a vacation.  It was so fun.  we stayed in a  townhouse with a kitchen and fridge so we were able to be minimalists in the food$$$$ department.  for 7 days this is what we did.  we woke up whenever, watched tv and ate breakfast for however long, went to the beach to snorkel, came home for lunch/ afternoon nap,  swim or snorkel,  dinner/sunset/more tv, bed.  It was awesome.  talk about relaxing.  I am still in vacation mode and play all day on the computer.  I'll get out if it.  a few days before we left remy started walking and now he is insane. also so cute.

Well, just a quick update today on 3 things.  1: Remy will now smile sometimes when we say "smile," like in the first picture below. 2: Remy loves corn.  Kristi was out shucking corn, and Remy had to keep trying bites out of the corn cobs.  Then he got a hold of one he liked, and he just went to town.  3: We went to Bear Lake last week, and it was awesome. The weather was so great, and it was so much fun on the wave runners.  Good times.
