Remy is 6 months old!! I can't believe I have a 6 month old baby. He's OLD! Time has seriously flown by. He is the cutest baby. seriously. We went to the doctor today and Here are the stats of the kid: height: 68% Weight: 13% head: 54% He eats all the time, I guess he is just a skinny minny.

He is a full time sitter (with a few fall overs)

he as tried rice cereal, doesn't love it or hate it. he seems indifferent

He still doesnt sleep much, but we're working on nap time.

i think he likes sporting events, or just likes something to watch. I took him to watch cade in church ball and he was interested the whole time

he has the most darling smile.

2011 was, in a word, weird. It was the weirdest year of my life so far. (i'm sure things will get weirder) The main things that happened are: Cade graduated Law school. Got a job. I got fatter than i ever wanted to be (but come next baby will accept the weight again). had a baby. that pretty much sums up my year. We are so thankful for 2011. We were blessed with more than we imagined possible.

as for 2012...

this is the year of KRISTI - as apposed to last year, the year of Remy- . I am going to improve myself. bigtime. but unlike years past, this year i'm going to succeed. :) I would like to exercise more often and possible lose some of the remaining evidence of the kid. I want to be able to run a 10K . also I have the goals of scripture study, and listening in church. and also I want to start cooking. boo yeah.

Remy's goals: grow a tooth, eat people food, crawl, walk, maybe say a few words.

as suspected, Christmas was awesome. Remy was so cute and he LOVED all of his wrapping paper. It was weird that cade only had one day of Christmas break. I wish it could have been more of a Break for Cade, but Remy and I still partied hard while everyone else was out of school. We had a fun Christmas Eve celebration at the Warburtons and then had a fab christmas morning With Grandma Buck. :) Remy was so thoughtful and slept until5:30. (i made him wait and go back to bed before we went and saw what santa brought) We had a wonderful breakfast and then headed to church at 11. after church we headed to the Olsens for of course more presents and Christmas dinner. It was so fun hanging out with everyone for the past few weeks. I'm always sad for christmas to be over and I was really sad when school started so everyone had to leave. The good news is that time goes by so fast for me now I know it will be back in a flash.

On Sunday Remy became a man. He is 5 months old. I can't believe how old he is. It seriously feels like yesterday I went in and birthed him out. Crazy. he is the cutest baby I have ever seen. He is always smiling and laughing (when he isn't screaming). A few things to remember about Remy right now

-SUper ticklish
-still won't take a bottle
-has the cutest laugh
- has a huge smile
- I think he looks like Cade, word on the street is that he looks like me
- He is tall and skinny
- only occasionally falls asleep not in someones arms
- He can sit for quite a while now
- splashes in the tub
- even if he's crying when cade comes home, right when Remy sees him he immediately smiles and laughs
- His Hair is growing
- He Loves paper
- DROOL
- Loves the Christmas tree
-Loves his little books
-Likes his head scratched
-I moved him to the pac'n'play from his bassinet :(
- loves it in the front pack
-Giggles when I sing to him in my opera voice
-still has only rolled over once on his own
- does not like tummy time and of course i give in and roll him over
-LOVES to nurse (i'm trying to make a bottle at least acceptable)

operation force-feed

I have been trying to make Remy take a bottle. he took it when i first got it for him but since then no such luck. for this past week i have implemented a new strategy. operation force feed. this is how it goes: i pump out one ounce of milk. then i try and feed it to Remy. once remy feels the imposter nipple in his mouth he starts screaming. It is seriously like I am torturing him. maybe to him, this is torture, i don't know. it usually takes quite a while to get that ounce accidentally ingested, but he always has accidentally taken it all in. during accidental ingestion he is screaming and coughing and gagging. as soon as he completes his task i give him the real deal and he is happy again. I do not know what to do to make him take a bottle. I seriously feel like i'm going insane because I know I can't go anywhere for more than a few hours. Not that I have anywhere to go, but just knowing I could if I wanted would be very nice. if Anyone had suggestions of an easier way to get him to take a bottle, now would be the time to share. Am I crazy?? maybe, but until then, operation force-feed will prevail!!!

Remy has not been the best sleeper. On Sunday I guess all the not sleeping caught up to him. He slept from 8:30 until almost 6. The tragedy is that I didn't sleep well the one night he did. I guess thats how things are. Im destined to never sleep again.

Remy loves to feel textures. He will find something to touch and just start scratching it.His favorites are jeans and the couch. it is so funny. He is a very silly boy. He laughs at pretty much everything we do. Recently when he eats he has to look around every few minutes (sometimes seconds) and make sure everything is happening around him. He eats, looks up looks around and then gets back to eating. He does that quite often during a feeding. Usually after so long I just tell him he's done. What a curious little kitten

On Mondays we play in a soccer league in West Haven. Our team is Olsen's Rule. There are plenty of olsens on the team. It is super fun. as it turns out we are not as good as we thought but it is still FUN.

I have a new goal of blogging {almost} every day. I decided I need to keep track of my life. so here we gooooooo. a few weeks ago we went to a football game. it was snowy that morning so we were nervous, but it ended up being sunny; still cold but at least there was sun. Remy was dressed up really warm and he looked so cute. On Thanksgiving we of course went to both of or families so we ate plentiful and it was awesome. I had my cooking debut and made rolls for both ( i was slaving for hours) I used the lionhouse recipe and they turned out pretty tasty (i think, maybe everyone felt so bad that they just said they did because i kept blabbing about how long they took me). Remy rolled over for the first time all by himself the day after Thanksgiving. We tried to go and cut down a Christmas Tree in Idaho last saturday. Fail. it didn't take. so if anyone knows of someone going up to idaho we would love a chance to redeem ourselves with someone who knows what they are doing. We are on a soccer team with my family as it turns out we are all not as good as we think we are but we still have lots of fun. Olsen's Rule!! Remy went to the Doctor for his 4 month appointment. He is still alive and well. He is a tall skinny little guy. He is in the 70% for height 26% for weight and 41% for head circumference. WE set up our Christmas Tree and put some lights up on our house - more to come after we acquire a ladder-. Remy is enamored by the Tree. He can not stop staring. He is so slobbery and he smiles and laughes all the time, unless he is screaming. He is super strong and does not like to sit. He is a stander. Cade grew a Moustache in november for movember. I'm sorry to say that the stache is now deceased. I cut 8 inches off my hair and dyed it dark again. It's a big shock but i'm trying to cope. Now that we are all caught up I will hopefully blog a bit more regularly to use this as a baby book / journal. Now for your worse nightmare..... PICTURE MANIA

Remy had his first halloween, and let me tell you he was cute. we had his lounge wear costume, which was a little turtle. it was sooo cute. also we were the 3 amigos. we looked good, if i say so myself. On Halloween cade ended his journey of law school and was sworn into the utah bar. he is finally free! he didn't have to go to work so we got to celebrate. Remy slept in until like 10 or something so we also enjoyed a little sleep in. We didn't take Remy trick or treating this year (party poopers) but next year he'll be out with a vengence. We did get to make doughnuts. mmmmmmm good. just thinking about them makes me want more more more. Remy is cute. he doesn't sleep much anymore, but his extreme good looks are making up for that.

last week we went to denver. it was an awesome vacation (for me). Cade had some beezwax there so I tagged along. I got to play with jilly for 3 days in a row and it was AWESOME. we had so much fun. On Sunday we left utah at like 1 ish and got to denver around 2 or 3. We went to the Reeds for dinner and just hung out and chatted. On Monday Jill and I went to the zoo. remy was disinterested but didn't cry. I went to breakfast with cade at his place and I was a public spectacle. every one was staring. babies are not common among business people i guess. on Tuesday it was starting to get cold so Jill and I stayed and swam and then walked around the mall. the babies started to freeze so we had to call it a day. It was so awesome to see Jill and baby andrew. Please move to utah. I seriously had the best time. On wednesday it was a full blown snow storm. so we came back to utah.

Good morning kiddo! He is getting a bit big for the ol' bassinet, eh?

as it turns out i think remy is extremely adorable. He is 3 months old now. I can't believe it. a few weeks ago we went through a little rough patch. Remy went through a screaming phase. all he did was scream. it was not a happy week for me. it turns out i don't take a crying baby very well especially if i'm tired. Cade is a trooper. I took dairy out of my diet and it seems to be helping. remy has started sleeping more again. last week he slept from 10 to 6:30. that was a happy night for me.

a few things about the kid:

-Remy has two moods: really mad or really happy.

-he is really strong he loves to stand

- he has started to suck on his hand

- he is very ticklish

- he is always drooling
- he looks really cute in a hat
- he has little bosoms. they are so cute

- his happiest time is in the morning when he wakes up

Remy Laughed out loud and I about died because it was so cute. We could get some of it on vid but it doesn't do it justice. I can't bare how cute he is.

There was a snake in our washing machine. Yes, a snake. I haven't used it yet and now i don't know if i ever will. jk, i will. some time

We went camping again. It was a last minute fishing trip to the unitas, it was super fun. Remy has been camping 4 times now.

Blessing

On September 4th We had Remy's Baby Blessing. Cade gave him a wonderful blessing. It was so sweet. I will never Forget it. Remy was so sweet and slept the whole time. We had a little get together after and it was great. Remy was able to wear the outfit my dad was blessed in and Cade's mom found some of his dads shoes. It was so cool to have him wear some of both his grandpas clothes. It was a great day.

The House

on Saturday July 9 (two days before I had Remy) We signed a lease on a darling little house in Plain City. We moved our stuff in that day but didn't really start living there til after the bar. we only had one mis hap during the move. we had tied our matress to the top of my parents van and yes, you guessed it, it fell off in the middle of the freeway. and to my dismay, cade ran out into the middle of the road to get it. i almost had a heart attack. i think the stress is what made Remy come. luckily we are all alive still. We are just in love with the house and the neighborhood.

At remy's blessing party someone pointed out that we had a chicken in our back yard. we don't know how it got there, but we don't care. It still hasn't left so Cade is trying to befriend it.

Peach Days

Remy had his very first peach days. I'm pretty sure he loved it. jk. he slept or cried the whole time. as always, peach days did not disappoint. until next year white trash brigham city friends that only come out once a year. We were able to meet up with some fab friends that we have been meaning to see for months. thank you peach days for making it happen.

last but not least, REMY

Remy is such a cute cute baby. I can not get enough of him. He has a dr appointment today when i'll find out how big he is. I'm pretty sure he's a giant though. he feels like a big big boy. He smiles more and more. We wake up to smiles and it is sooo cute. it melts my heart. he's been doing some talking recently too. We sure love this little gremlin.

Rafting

A couple weeks ago we went rafting. It was so fun. We haven't been for a couple years so it was great to get back on the river. We woke up early on saturday and headed to the river. Remy was so good the whole time. Luckily my mom came to baby sit Remy so I could go on both the runs. The first one the weather was just beautiful. It was sunny and warm. The second run was not so lucky. It Poured the whole time. It was cold but it was so fun. Cade even fell in. I looked back and thought it was someone else so I didn't care, but then I looked again and noticed it was cade so I freaked out. oops. The reason he fell in is because he was taking a video of the big rapid. ha. It was such a fun day, I am so glad we were able to go.

Well I guess this is how our life will be. which is fine. Because now that Remy is getting older he is much more pleasant to be around. not as much crying. he still doesn't sleep as much as I'd like at night, but we do have our good days. We are renting a little house in Plain City (North Ogden) and it is just the cutest thing. It is SUPER hot due to no AC. But we are still so glad to be here. I'll have to take some pictures sometime. Remy is 6 weeks old. I can't believe it. Its so weird that there are babies that are smaller than him. He is quite cute. He smiles occasionally but only if he just ate or needs to poop. He is just growing like a weed. We try and sneak and play tennis while He is asleep. sometimes we play for 10 minutes sometimes for as long as we want. It will be nice when Remy will just sit in his car seat even if he's awake.

Remy Loves Camping

Well, Remy is just over one month old, and already has been on three camping trips. The first camping trip was the Hirschi family reunion up Logan Canyon. It was a great time with family and a lot of fun at Bear Lake.

The first night there, we had a get together around the campfire at our camp. Kristi left her nursing cover sitting on one of the camp chairs over night. When we woke up, it wasn't there. Kristi was convinced that someone accidentally folded it up in a camp chair and walked away with it. Well, right before leaving on the third day, I went to take a wizz, and was casually looking around. Well, the nursing cover was up in a tree. Some squirrel wanted a nice home I guess.

The second camping trip was Kristi's Family's "Camping with the Cousins" up at soldier hollow. It was a lot of fun and games, but the mosquitoes were intense. Thank goodness for the buggy and mosquito net.

We then took a week off, before heading back camping. We went up to the Uintahs, to Trial Lake. It was a lot of fun, Kristi caught a couple fish, we did some canoeing, and had fun around the camp fires.

Remy is awesome. He has his rough days where it just seems like he wants to cry, but he is a good little guy for the most part. He especially seems to like camping, because he does awesome. Now for a couple of my favorite pics of Remy thus far.

Last week we had the great opportunity to have some visitors from Germany. Mark and Ash and Sadie and Londy. I have to say it was so great to see them. We haven't seen them since they came and visited us in Buda Pest. Seeing them brought back all sorts of memories of our good times in europe. We are really wanting go get back there. All we need to do is devise a plan. We were all together -minus one in law- (yes jer, you were missed) for about 10 minutes. During that time we got ourselves a family picture. I'd say its pretty cute. Also, ash took some pictures of me and cade and remy. Also, ash took some pictures of just remy. he is not much for pictures. but he's still cute. Thanks Ash!

speaking of remy, he has been quite the pill. sometimes i think i'm not cut out for this business. But then I remember i birthed him so I can do anything.

has been studying for the past 2 weeks

Today and yesterday cade has been taking the Bar. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. I am so lucky to have such a fellow as cade. I know that everything he does is for me and Remy. We have been so lucky to have such a great life.

Now on to Remy:

we have had him for 2 weeks. He had is 2 week appointment yesterday. He is an average sized baby. except for his height. he is nice and tall. Cade couldn't be more excited. He sleeps less and less. Its really traumatizing to me. I used to get like 4 hours in between each time i fed him. now i'm lucky to get 3. that equals getting up like 3 times each night. it is really a shame.

He is awake more and more. I'm trying to not hold him as much. He is really not used to not being held. All in all he is a good baby.

Well, it happened. Kristi gave birth yesterday at 6:22 p.m. 7 pounds 11 ounces born on 7/11. Not too bad. Baby and mom are both doing great. Kristi had her doctor's appt at 8:45 yesterday morning, and he told us to head to the hospital. We got here at about 11 am, got the water broke at about 1, walked the halls a couple times in the next few hours, took a shower at about 5:15 and the contractions started getting more intense. Got out of the shower and called a nurse at about 5:45, told her that "I have a couple questions." Kristi was at a 10 and the nurse immediately called the doctor to get on his way from bountiful. Kristi didn't wait, however, and it was almost out by the time he got here. Her two favorite quotes of the day: "I can't believe it!" ( repeated many times right after he was born and he was on her chest), and "this is the weirdest day." so far, we have to wake him up to try and get him to eat, but it just seems that he'd rather be sleeping. Pictures to come shortly (as well as the decision on a name).

I had high hopes that the baby would be here by now, but alas, no. I had my last day of work on Monday so now I am just living the good life. I sit home and do whatever, cade sits home and studies. what a life. We went to the real salt lake game last saturday and it was super fun. Super hot but still fun. I will be 39 weeks on monday. time flies when you're having fun. Now I have this inner battle - get the baby out so I can get back to normal, or have a baby to take care of.
But we are just so excited to get the little dude here, even though I'm super nervous. Come on little guy

We went to logan on Saturday for a day of summer. it was such a great warm day. we went fishing and hiked the wind caves. It was soooo fun. While Kurt and I were fishing cade was studying like the studious fellow he his. poor cade. I wore my shirt that says too fat to function. it is so funny, especially now that i am literally too fat to function. I am 35 weeks pregnant. I am much bigger this week than 2 weeks ago when I took a picture of me last. I am excited to get this little dude out.

Memorial Day Vaca

Memorial day was awesome. We went to Huntington State Park to camp and to be close to the San Rafael River to float that on Saturday. On Sunday we just hung out in the wind and monday we packed up and headed home. The weather on Saturday for the float was AWESOME. we thought it was going to be cold but it was not. We had a great time. Cade is such a good sport. I didn't have a paddle so he just paddled us the whole way while I worked on my tan. It was really relaxing for me, and a great workout for cade i think.

also, now that its june, next month is baby time.

I can never believe how large I am. i don't feel like i'm that huge but then i look at this picture and I stand corrected. my name is kristi, but my friends call me ginormica.

Cade is finally a man!! jk. but he did turn 26. I think he accomplished a lot in his 25 year old year. But I think his 26th year will be just as much of an adventure. I didn't really do too much for his birth celebration. we were going to go camping but i did not want to go because of the weather. Instead we just went to brigham for a few days. We went to logan also. It was fun to go back. we miss it terribly. I am now 30 weeks pregnant. i would say that is 6.5 months. i can't believe that in 2 months i will be giving birth. yikes. my stomach is quite large. and i'm sad to say its just going to get bigger. oh well, this kid better be worth it.

I would also like to give a shout-out to strawberries. This is the best time of the year. I have been eating so many strawberries and I have loved every bite.

Well, we can't believe that 3 years is over already. I graduated yesterday from BYU Law School. Even though I still have the bar exam looming in July, it still feels pretty good to be done with school. It is crazy how fast it has gone by. Kristi and the rest of our families have all been champs, and so supportive. I most definitely couldn't have done it without all of them. Pictures of graduation to come soon.

We love nice weather. We have been playing so much tennis this spring, practically any time that the weather is good enough. We've had a minor set back with the weather the last couple days, but hopefully this is the last set back, and spring will come back for good.

I just am in the mood to post something, even though I have nothing to post about. Here's an update on all of us:

I'm pregnant. It's so weird. I think maybe I can feel it moving, but still I can't tell.

Cade is going to school. and volunteering (internship) and job searching. and being awesome

Baby Creature is Growing like a weed. I'm getting bigger and bigger.

other news: I couldn't find my phone last night, but I didn't feel like looking. I was looking this morning and could not find it anywhere. The only possible explanation was that I dropped it last night outside when I was trying to throw snowballs at cade while he was shoveling. I dug through the mountains of snow and I found it. It was a miracle. The other miracle is that it worked still. I am still drying it out so hopefully there won't be any damage.

I got a job. I work every now and then. I'm always hungry. I try and limit my eating but it sure is hard.

I don't think we even have any new pictures to post. :( boo hoo Thats how lame we are.

we Love christmas. Especially this year since we had been away from our family for the last 7 months. It was so fun to see everyone and spend time with our long lost families.

2010 was the most awesome year I have ever had. I was really nervous about it, but turns out, living in Europe was the bomb. seriously. A few things of greatness in 2010..

I graduated college!

We lived in Paris

Celebrated 3 years of marriage

What an amazing year. I probably won't ever have such an exciting year. Oh well. Bring on 2011. One thing I don't like is change, and 2011 will bring plenty of it, but as I said before, bring it on.

we never thought it would come, and it still isn't quite here, but on monday we're leaving beautiful europe to go home. To celebrate our final weekend, we are in Austria. We got into Vienna last night and went to a Christmas market. This morning we went to Salzburg. It was really fun there. And I got to see tons of things from the Sound of Music. How do you solve a problem like Maria? We're heading back to Budapest tomorrow after a day more in Vienna, and then on Monday (weather permitting) we'll get HOME!! we are so excited. But of course a little sad to end our 7 month vacation. Pics soon...

Hey everybody, it's been a while since I have actually blogged. Kristi has been taking care of the posts, but she left me this morning for Germany. Her bro Mark and his family (Ashley, Sadie, and London) came to Budapest on Tuesday, and spent a few days with us. Kristi flew back with them this morning, and she is spending a week with them in Germany. We had a fun time with them here, and can't believe that November is flying by as fast as it is. A couple weeks ago we went to the marriage of figgero. It was beautiful music, but it was a little hard to follow the story line. we only made it to the first intermission. The opera house was beautiful inside. it was so fancy. In December we are going to go to the Nutcracker there. I have never been so of course i'm excited

I can't believe that it is already October 20th. In one month I will be going to Germany and then one month after that we'll be going home. CRAZY. Cade decided upon our arrival in Budapest that he would like to go to Romania and see the Transylvania countryside. So that is what we did last weekend. We left on Saturday and took a 45 minute flight to Targu Mures Transylvania airport. We drove tons and tons and saw the countryside, some castles, small villages, and lots of ferrel dogs. It was awesome. I could not believe the way some of the people lived. I gave away all our granola bars and mentos we brought to little kids that we passed as we drove by. They were all so excited. Seeing a car was more rare than seeing a Horse and Buggy. it was like going back in time. It made me realize how grateful I am. and let me tell you, I am grateful. We had a great time and we only had a few international incidents. not bad.

For the last few days of our huge trip we were in Germany with mark and ash. They were awesome. they fed us and gave us a shower and gave us a bed and american TV (cade loved watching football again'). WE went to a few small towns around where they live. everything around there was so cute. We are super jealous of their location and their darling new house. IT is seriously the cutest thing ever. We LOVED meeting little London and seeing Sadie again. They are just hoots. So funny. While we were in Paris it was so fun to have them just 4 hours away, too bad we had to leave so soon after they got there. having family out here makes it even more awesome. Having them so close made me think I could live in Paris forever.

This is all the stuff we had to pack from germany to Hungary. SO MUCH JUNK. our biggest luggage is broken so cade had to carry it instead of wheeling it. it was the worst.

we made it to Budapest. Things are a little weird but we're getting all settled in. Our apartment needed a little TLC but it's getting better and they say they'll fix our bed on monday. (it broke while we were on it, Creepy) We vacuumed up most of the cobish webs so things are looking up. we don't have internet in our apartment so we go to the mall that is close to our house and sneak it. Cade starts school on Monday so that should be interesting, and I start whatevering again on monday, which should also be interesting. anyone wanting to visit eastern europe is encouraged to come on over. you can even stay in our apartment with us. (we sure wish we were back in france or even Germany but hopefully this place grows on us because we are here for a while)

We have had the most awesome summer ever. IT has been so fun and full amazing adventures. We bought 2 weeks of eurail train passes and we're leaving tomorrow to take on europe by train. after that it will be on to Hungary. Crazy. Last weekend we had our final guests over to see Paris with us. I have to say, they were awesome. with them here there were 4 adults and 2 babies thatall slept in our tiny apartment. for the last week we had Cade's mom and aunt here to visit us. It was awesome. WE had so much fun touring around Paris and driving around France. We picked them up from the train station on Wednesday night. ON Thursday we did stuff around paris and on Friday we woke up early and rented a car to drive across the country. IT was so fun. We drove through the loire valley and then to Mont Saint Michel and then to Normandy to see the D day beaches. It was an awesome weekend. We stayed Friday night in the cutest bed and breakfast in the middle of french farmland. It was so darling. On our drive home we stopped in a city that Cade served in on his mission. I guess the church isn't a church any more. The rest of the week we spent around Paris doing all the Paris stuff. It was sad to see them go, but I'm sure they're excited to get out of a tiny one bedroom apartment. We can't wait to see them again at Christmas. We are leaving Paris for our 2 week trip next week. CRAZY! Also, I am now 22 years old. I'm a woman.

its true, we went to london. It was really great. We had so much fun wandering around the city. We only paid and went into Parliament and the rest of the time we found free stuff to do. The cheapest place we found to stay was in a dorm room, so that was funny. For 3 days we lived off bagels and granola bars and croissants. On Monday we decided to treat ourselves so we went to Pizza hut. IT was awesome to eat normal pizza. A few highlights of London were: Big ben tower, Parliament, platform 9 3/4, the british library (we saw tons of original notebooks from composers and authors and the magna carta), double decker buses, London Bridge, buckingham place,sherlock holmes, and just about every building was cool looking. It was really nice to be back in English speaking territory so I could read signs and understand (for the most part) what everyone was saying.

I can't believe we only have 4 weeks left in Paris. It has flown right by. soon we'll be packing up and heading to Hungary. Wild. Now, what i've been up to. Since Jeannette left I had another visitor (my niece Annie), and I went to Germany. It has been so nice this month to have so many people here and things to do. With Annie we went and saw all the things in Paris, but we also took her to see the chateau Chantilly. It was really cool. The gardens were really cool. They weren't all flowery and well kept they were like woods and patches of wild flowers and lakes and things. I thought it was awesome. I think I could live in a castle. While we were there there was a horse jumping competition going on so we went and watched a few jumps. I thought they would be running real fast and stuff, but it was kinda slow. But, they did jump so it was pretty cool. Pretty sure Annie Loved it. In Germany I stayed with my aunt and uncle. They were awesome. I ate sooo much delicious german food. I think I now weigh double what I used to. It was so fun to be with family and be cooked for constantly.

Cade here, been a while since I've done some bloggging. We've had a fun time lately, as would be expected. Kristi's sister Jeannette has been with us for the last 10 days, and Kristi's been having a great time being a tour guide. Here are some of the highlights...

Then here is where the highlight, in my opinion, begins. This is one side of the Chateau of Blois. We decided to do a bike ride in the Loire Valley on Saturday, biking from Blois to Cheverny, to Chambord, then back to Blois. All in all, about 32 miles, and it was a blast.

For one week it has been really really hot. outside is hot, inside is hot (no AC), there is no way to get out of it. I have taken up running to pass the time away. I go about 4 miles, probably I walk at least half of it. I don't mean to brag, but it is so awesome that my daily run is to the Eiffel Tower and back. anywho, when I get back I am dripping sweat, like literal dripping. I take cold showers and when I get out I sweat some more. We have to take turns sleeping on the outside of the bed to feel the fan. Finally, today, it is raining and things are cooling down a little. Temperature change is the weirdest thing. this morning it was like a million degrees, now it's like only a thousand. after a million, a thousand feels incredible.

We've been in a bit of a tourism rut, but we're trying to get out again to see more stuff. We bought tickets to go to London in August. We don't really know where to stay, so if anyone knows of anyplace or anyone (cheap) we would love to know. I'm sure I'll post some pictures soon.

I know I said I would post every day, but I find myself lacking an interesting post. Today isn't any different. So here goes.

We got a care package in the mail from Cade's mom. It included another suit for cade, some cereal, candy, peanut butter and mac'n'cheese. It was very nice and much appreciated. THANK YOU!!!!!!! I love mac'n'cheese so much I could eat a whole box. (I don't, usually) I used to eat a peanut butter sandwich for lunch every day, and now I can continue that (peanut butter here is super expensive, and at first we couldn't even find any) YAY for delicious american food.

We have been here for a whole month. It's crazy. time sure has been flying, which is weird because every day goes by really slowly. Here are some pictures of our luxurious lifestyle.

On saturday's one of the things we like to do (besides sleeping in) is to just walk around the streets of paris. we often don't know exactly where we are, but it's fun to just wander around the less popular area's. thats where we found the fun pastry shop for our lunch. (not a surprise we "found" it, because they are seriously like on every street corner)

I love the world cup. It gives me something to do every day. i've gotten really into it. as we speak Italy and slovakia are batteling it out. with only a couple seconds left. poor italy, I don't think they can pull it off

Well, as for every weekend, we love just spending it together, and walking around to see the sites. This weekend, as many of you know, also marked the start of the world cup. Here in Paris they have a FIFA Fan Fest Village, with a huge screen to watch the games on. We went and watched the first game for the French team. Although they didn't win, it was pretty fun being there, although we sat by a group of annoying guys and we came out smelling like smoke. Not a bad background to watch the world cup

where to begin...
Cade started work. At first he didn't have much to do, but apparently he does now because it's 8pm and he's still not home (at least he came home for lunch so I could see him for a bit

We spent like 50 bones to get a library card I was nervous to spend that much but i'm glad we did. We started on season one of lost and so far it's pretty entertaining. Also I got some books to read to help pass the time. I love being at home but in France it's a bit different because I can't understand TV and i don't like going anywhere alone still.

We saw our first riot. It was great. we also saw our second riot about a week later for the same cause.

We LOVE the weekend. at least I do. Even though we are really tired because it seems like all we do is walk, at least we do it together (i sit all week so I might as well get up and walk) In fact, we walked 2 miles home on sunday after church and the louvre to save $1.20.

We went to the louvre. Neither of us are big museum ers so we hit up mona and the statue with the broken off arms and called it a day. it's ok because we went on the first sunday of the month so it was FREE.

I guess thats all that's been happening. If anyone wants to come and visit feel free. I would love it.

Google Chrome keeps being psychotic and shutting down when I add pictures so I guess I'll do that later. Because I have so much time, it's really not a problem.

Soissons

Well, this past weekend Kristi and I got to go to the wonderful Picardie region of France. My first area on my mission was Soissons, and I loved it and the families there, so I couldn't wait to take Kristi there. So on Friday we took an hour train ride from Paris to Soissons, where we walked around for about 3-4 hours and I showed her the city. It brought back a lot of memories. Then Edith Poletz came and picked us up in the evening, where we went back to their farm and house. I love the Poletz family, they are great. They were very good to us, and let us stay for two nights, and they sure fed us well. Friday was a tour of the farm, etc, where they showed us all sorts of cool remnants from the World Wars that took place there. Saturday they took us to Pierrefonds, a great castle I visited on my mission, but definitely worth a return trip. Then just hung out at the house and played games for the rest of the evening. Sunday we went to church with them in St Quentin (the boundaries have changed so they and a couple other families are no longer in the Soissons branch). It was fun to have church in French again, and it was great to see the Membre family as well. The were going to come to the Poletz' house on Sunday night, but something came up, so I guess we have an excuse to go back now. It was a fun weekend.

Congratulations to my brother James. He is engaged to be married. I think they are getting married in August. It's so exciting. Too bad I'm going to miss it, but he deserves it because he missed mine, so I guess we're even. CONGRATULATIONS JAMES AND CARLY

Also, Today is my first day all alone and Cade's first day of work. I want him to come home. After a couple months of being together all the time this 8 hours apart is a killer. I'm still too scared to go anywhere alone.

Today we walked from our apartment into the heart of the city then up to Mont Martre. Before we left we finally went to a grocery store to buy some food.
in the heart of the city we saw:
Luxembourg gardens and palace, the pantheon and a church next to it that was built in the 1400s (the original church was built in 510. then we went to NOtre Dame where we had our first LDS missionary sighting. Cade was giggling for a while because it was some of the missionaries' first day "they don't know what they're in for" a quote from cade. We went to the church and saw many more missionaries just hanging out. I thought they were supposed to be preaching. oh well. we went to a few fab stores and then headed to Sacre Coeur up on Mont Martre. Then we ended it all by hitting the Moulin Rouge.
We rode the metro home because we were so tired of walking all day long. When we got home we took a couple hour nap from 8-about930. Then Cade made us some fabulous tortillas and we had burritos.

We made it. It was long and there were a few situations, but we made it. Today (started at 1:30 am UT time) we got to the airport, spent hours there trying to figure out our housing, went to the agency, and finally made it to the apartment. After we got here we took a 4 hour nap and then hit the town. We walked around for a long time and I am soo tired.

Last week we went to californiar with my sister Mer and her "friend" It was so awesome!!! Great friends and GREAT times. We drove on Monday, went to Disney Land on Tuesday (happiest place on earth), beach Wednesday and drove home on Thursday. I love Disney Land. I love the beach. It was such an awesome vaca. We stayed at Cade's law school friends house, it was so nice of the Inouye's to let us stay. We rode bikes from their house to the beach it was soooo fun. We drove home Thursday so we could make it to my cousin Holly's wedding. I can't believe that little girl is a married woman. We are leaving for Paris in one week. I am nervous out of my gourd.

College Graduate

I think that the title explains it all. I graduated with my bachelors on Friday. It was so exciting!! I started at USU back in '06, got married in '07, finished my generals at USU so I took a semester off, Cade graduated from USU in 08 and got accepted to BYU law that fall, I started UVU (had to transfer to follow the husband) in summer '08 and graduated in the Spring of 2010. My life has been such a great adventure. I sure miss the Aggies. In my mind I'll always be a Utah State Aggie, but I guess wolverines aren't the worst. I made it my whole UVU career without going to one UVU event. oops. I'm nervous to go to France, but it's a good thing we're going because now that I'm done with school I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of going to more school just because it feels so weird to be done.

Also, Cade turned 25. We went out to dinner with my UVU bffs to celebrate, well more of a celebration for us than for cade. all the spouses think we are absolutely insane. I love Kierst, Jill, and Mickelle. I made Cade a cake that kierst showed me. It looked a little sloppy, but still pretty cool. As for my summer, I don't get dressed most days and I love it! My Table Project

Ok, this has been my project that I've been working on for a little while. We bought a drop-leaf table for $25, and it was in decent condition. As you can see from the top two pics, there were some white, heat marks, and also some damage to one edge of the table. So the first thing I did, was applied a finish remover, and let it sit/react for a few minutes. Then you scrape off the finish, and I had to do that a second time to get off what I missed the first time. After getting the finish off, I filled in the damaged areas with some wood filler (no picture of me doing this). Then, I sanded the whole thing with 100 grit then 220 grit sand paper. After sanding, I stained the table top, since we wanted it a little darker than the natural color of the wood, and we went with English Chestnut. After staining, I put on the semi-gloss protective finish. After the first coat, I lightly sanded it down with 220 grit, then applied a second coat. I was nervous that I was ruining the whole thing when I was sanding off that first coat, but I think that it ended up pretty good. There's a couple finished pictures at the end, and the final pic shows the edge where the damage was. You can still see some discoloration, but at least there aren't chunks out of the wood. So this has been a fun project, and someday I may have to try refinishing the legs and the rest of the table.

So, we found out that we are now going to be spending 8 months in Europe this year. Cade has a job with a law firm in Paris for the summer. So we will be in Paris from May to September, then Budapest til December. Crazy.

A few nights of no sleep really takes a toll on me

for my spring break we tried to go camping in St George at Snow Canyon. We went on some great hikes and got a little sun but the wind blew us home early but it was still great. And then yesterday we went to Escalante and hiked in the slot canyons. It was really fun. There were some spots we could barely squeeze through. Sorry to Cade that he couldn't spend the weekend studying like all his law school friends.

I found out yesterday that I have to buy a black cap and gown to walk in graduation. I thought I could rent one but I had to buy it. I was horrified so I got out of line and went home to do some research. alas, I couldn't find anything on Craigslist or KSL (except a BYU navy blue, which would have been funny to "think it was black"). So I went back today after consoling myself and mentally preparing to fork out the dough. but I did it. So go me, I'm really graduating. I can't believe it. it's weird. I have been going to school for my whole life. I might apply to a grad program after we get back from Hungary, if I still want to.

In other news: Cade is finishing a table to make it nice and pretty (picture below), I bought a set of 101 cookie cutters and made cookies with them, they were pretty good. I got some Glam Gloves for christmas and I cleaned my burners in style. Cade is still working and looking for things to do in hungary. I try not to think about it. I'm nervous to leave my humble abode (and comfort bubble.)

Budapest Hungary

Well, we have some exciting news (this is Cade by the way). We just found out that I was chosen to do a semester abroad this fall. So we will be headed to Budapest Hungary, where I will be studying in their law program. We, probably me a little more than Kristi, are way excited. I included a few pics of Budapest. As long as we get a few things straightened out and finalized this week, we will be heading to Hungary from about Sept 20 - Dec 17. Way cool.

We have nothing to blog about. We still are doing the same old thing. I haven't taken a picture in weeks and weeks. Cade's car keeps not starting. it's really annoying. We're trying to figure out what is sucking the life out of the battery, but so far we don't know. I have taken up the sport of running and I am not the biggest fan but hey, its healthy so i'll keep trying. T minus 2 months til graduation. I'm thinking about applying for a masters program at Weber. but only thinking. the more I think the more it's not going to happen because the deadline passed already. 2 more years of school? sheesh.

Sorry everyone, I know that we don't update this nearly as often as we should. What have we been up to since Christmas Break?? Well, mainly school. Kristi is in her last semester of school. It's a little easier semester than last semester (at least thus far). This has given her a little more time, so she has been awesome at going running basically every day, and even taking up some sewing (she's made two very nice decorative pillows for our bed). I too have been going to school, and my classes are going ok. We both read a book this month, Kristi re-read Harry Potter & The Deathly Hollows, and I read Dan Brown's Lost Symbol (if you like the other 2 in the series, I'd highly recommend this one, it was pretty good). Work also keeps me fairly busy as well, but I just hope it lasts. We also went and did our "Give a Day, Get a Day" for Disney, with the Habitat for Humanity in Provo. So we went and gave service and we get a free day at either Disneyland or DisneyWorld. Other than that, it's been a pretty quiet January. Hope that we have more to share in the near future.

Well, final preparations are in full swing. My finals begin next week and run for 2 weeks, and Kristi's finals are the second week. We are both trying to cram in as much as we can (in hind-sight, we, actually more me than Kristi, probably should have done a little more studying throughout the semester instead of doing it this way). Kristi has to go to her anatomy lab quite often to study the cadavers. So, school is keeping us pretty busy right now, and we can't wait until December 18th, aka the start of our Christmas break. Wish us luck with finals.

We have gained so much love these past years. and weight.

Now for an update: School, work, school. bla bla bla. I made a pumpkin pie from a real pumpkin. It is the most domestic thing I've ever done. It even tasted ok. We are almost done with this semester so that means crunch time. all the slacking i've done needs to be made up. I am so excited for christmas (break especially). It seems like I should be able to write something else but I can't think of anything else we did. ps Graduation is right around the corner. April can't come fast enough. Holla

ps congratulations to my Papa for a job well done with launching the rocket. I watched the launch on the NASA channel (the only time i've ever watched it and probably the last). It was exciting.

Hey everybody, just wanted to give some commentary on the last post. First of all I did not hit Kristi and give her a bruise on her knee. She is a flag-football all-star, and had a collision with another player. Then Kristi, her parents, Kurt, Danny, and Heidi & kids went camping up in Idaho this past weekend. I wish I could have gone, but I had work and a lot of homework. They had a lot of fun, and it was really beautiful, from what I hear.

I have a new little niece! Baby London Jane Olsen was born on Thursday October 8. She is just adorable and I can't wait to meet her. I guess I'll have to make a trip to Florida in the near future. hello cyberspace!!! I wish there was something to blog about, but alas, nothing. All we do is school and work all the time. Cade has a break from school this week. Lucky. I am taking anatomy this semester so it feels like all my time is devoted to cadavers even though I spend a fraction of the time in the lab than most people. sheesh. We went to the BYU USU game and of course we were in our Aggies Gear. They did pretty well. Our life is the same day after day after day. woo hoo!
